I love you oh so well
Like a kid loves candy and fresh snow

Roth and I were feeling kind of restless today, so we thought we would take a drive. We decided we wanted to go to the snow, figuring we wouldn’t have to drive too far to find a nice fluffy patch of the white stuff for Sierra (and us, too) to frolic in, and then we would head back home. I really have no idea what possessed this strange desire, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

So I bundled up, put on some warm socks and wrapped myself in a fleece scarf.

Sierra got cozy, too.

And then we drove. And drove. And drove some more. Until finally, we saw snow. But it wasn’t the kind of snow in which we could play. It was still very much up in the mountains, and even when we reached the top of Stevens Pass off of Highway 2 where there was a plethora of snow on the ground, there was no place for us to pull off the road so we could enjoy it.

But then we saw that the quaint Bavarian town of Leavenworth was just 30 miles away, and since we’d never been there, we said, “What the hell, let’s go!” So we did. We spent all of 20 minutes there before heading back, because by 3:30, it was already getting dark, and we had a long way to go before reaching home.

Leavenworth

Again, I don’t know why we felt it necessary to drive almost 200 miles roundtrip in order to experience snow, but there you go. That’s what we did today. You?
