| Yeah, yeah ... if everyone jumped off of a blogging bridge, I would too. Here are 100 things you never knew you needed to know about me. And yes, there will be a test at the end. 1.My name is Jenifer and it is spelled with only one “n.” 2.I was born October 13, 1979. 3.I am a Libra. 4.I have a tattoo on my lower back of the astrological symbol for Libra. It’s a balance. ![]() 5.I have dark brown eyes and blonde-streaked. My natural color? Who knows? 6.I am half Dutch and half Danish. 7.I am really tall for a girl – 5’11” 8.No, I never played basketball or volleyball. 9.Because I wasn’t blessed with the coordination that usually comes with being tall. 10.And I am afraid of organized sports that feature balls being thrown or bounced around. 11.But I like to bowl. 12.I took bowling twice in college and earned highest game for a girl one quarter. 13.I earned a degree in journalism from Cal Poly in 2002. 14.I am right-handed. 15.I am allergic to cats. 16.I have one dog – a super-spoiled little beagle named Sierra. ![]() 17.I wanted to be a writer since I was very young. 18.I always kept journals and wrote stories. 19.I won a writing contest in the fifth grade. I wrote a story about a spy girl on a cruise ship. I got a medal. 20.My favorite books growing up were Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie books and The Babysitter’s Club books. 21.I attempted to learn the clarinet in fifth grade but dropped out of band after three weeks. 22.I really wish I would have learned to play the piano. 23.We had a 100-year-old piano in the house I grew up in. The first two keys on the right didn’t work. 24.My favorite movies growing up were The Neverending Story, The Wizard of Oz and Sixteen Candles. 25.When I was a hostess at a fancy resort restaurant during college, I had the privilege of seating Molly Ringwald and her guest. I don’t think I looked her in the eye because I was so nervous. 26.I cry easily at movies, especially when the music swells in all the right places. 27.I still cry really hard at E.T. Like a blubbering little baby. 28.I am a movie snob. 29.I was a movie critic for my college newspaper for a year. 30.My favorite TV show of all time is Seinfeld. I usually watch a couple episodes in syndication every night. I can quote most episodes. 31.My favorite TV shows 32.My parents had HBO when I was really young. I used to watch Fraggle Rock and can sing the theme song. ![]() 33.One of the nicknames for our cats was “Doozer.” 34.I am a sucker for reality TV. 35.As a reporter for my college newspaper, I got to go the final live taping of the first season of “Big Brother” in LA. One of the contestants, Josh, went to my college. 36.After the show’s live finale, I got to go into the Big Brother house and look around. I sat in the confessional and thought I was hot shit. 37.I once sent in an audition tape for MTV’s “Road Rules.” Out of 7,000 audition tapes, I was chosen as one of 80 finalists. I didn’t make it any further. I would have been on the season that went to Latin America. I’m glad I didn’t make it. 38.One of my first words was “choppy.” Choppy refers to any kind of meat. Another one of my first words was “shy shy.” I used to call this out when we passed by McDonalds. 39.Which is ironic because I now loathe McDonalds and all that the golden arches represent in society and pop culture. 40.I 41.I have not eaten fast food in a long time. 42. My first job when I was 15 was at Taco Bell. I had to sweep the dining room and ring up customers. I ate a lot of re-dehydrated bean burritos during that time. 43.Turns out that 44.My favorite food, even today, is mashed potatoes with butter. 45.I still drink milk with dinner. 46.And love a good kid meal once and awhile, like chicken strips and tater tots or grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. 47.I didn’t like or eat pizza for a whole year. 48.I now love pizza again. Welcome back, old friend. 49.I’m obsessed with plucking my eyebrows and looking at my pores. I have a special magnified/lighted mirror just for this obsession. 50.I’ve caught Roth using the mirror on many occasions. 51.I enjoy karaoke. 52.There are three songs I always end up singing: “Hurts So Good” by John Mellencamp, “Hard To Handle” by The Black Crowes, and “Cowboy Take Me Away” by The Dixie Chicks. 53.The teen heartthrob I loved when I was a kid was Kirk Cameron. I even wrote him fan letters. ![]() 54.I also liked Michael J. Fox a lot. 55.I was a huge New Kids on the Block fan in fifth and sixth grades. I loved Joey and Jon the most. 56.My first cassette tape was Whitney Houston’s 1987 album Whitney. My favorite songs were “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “So Emotional.” 57.I tried out with three other girls for the fifth grade talent show with a choreographed dance routine to “Like a Prayer” by Madonna. We didn’t make it. Apparently we were a little too controversial for our time. 58.I took a Beatles class in college. I wrote a nine-page paper about the song “A Day in the Life.” 59. 60.I also know way too much about popular music from all generations. I constantly amaze my family and friends with my useless knowledge. 61.I enjoy watching “Jeopardy.” 62.My favorite Nintendo game when we first got one was “Mike Tyson’s Punch Out.” ![]() 63.I once beat “Mortal Combat” on Sega. 64.I like board games like Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit and cribbage. I am really competitive when playing with family. 65.I once had a hamster named Murphy. His wheel squeaked at night. Mine wasn’t because I held my bag next to my chest the entire time we were there. 75.When I graduated from college in 2002, I went with my best friend to New York City. 76.The best part of the trip was seeing Mamma Mia on Broadway. 77.My favorite smells are cilantro, new sneakers and, sometimes, gasoline. 78.I drive a 79.My first car was a 1978 BMW 320i. It was a tank of a car. 80.The only time I ever had to be put under for surgery was when I was hit in the mouth with softball. My upper jaw bone was broken and had to be wired together (this explains my irrational fear of balls and sports from #10). ![]() 81.I have a small scar on the left side of my upper lip from the stitches. 82.I have a scar on each of my middle fingers. 83.One from the time I slammed my hand in a swinging door of restaurant I worked at. 84.And the other from the time my mom’s mini schnauzer bit me. He had to be quarantined by the county department of animal services. 85.I am near-sighted and wear contact lenses. 86.The thought of having my eyes lasered scares the crap out of me. 87.I was diagnosed with a mild case of scoliosis in seventh grade. 88.My mother still tells me to stand up straight. 89.I have one brother, Jimmy, who is 90.Depending on the day, we are usually pretty good friends. 91.I enjoy going to concerts. 92.I have seen Coldplay (3 times), John Mayer, Norah Jones, No Doubt (3 times), Incubus (2 times), Santana, Jack Johnson, Fiona Apple (4 times), Beck, Dave Matthews and many others within the last 93.The first concert I remember seeing was Richard Marx. 94.One of the most memorable shows was seeing Doobie Brothers and Foreigner with my dad at the fair. 95.I 96.Those two years were spent living in Idaho when I was a toddler. 97. 98.I would love to travel to New Zealand and Holland before the end of the decade. 99.I hope that Roth and I will have at least one child before the end of the decade. 100.My favorite alcoholic drink is the cosmopolitan. ![]() |
